Terrence Joseph Moellering of Florissant, MO. On Friday, June 17th Terry Moellering (82) of Florissant, MO died peacefully at home in Stone Mountain, GA. He was born in St. Louis to the late Joseph and Catherine Moellering. Terry enjoyed a happy childhood growing up in Florissant with his two younger sisters Kathleen and Karen. Terry was preceded in death by Jean, his beloved wife of fifty-seven years; sister-in-law Carolyn; brother-in-law Dave; brother-in-law Dale; and brother-in-law Brock. Terry graduated from Chaminade high school in 1958 and went on to serve in the Missouri National Guard while earning a degree from St. Louis Community College. He pursued a career in retail sales spending nearly 30 years at Fischer’s of Florissant and subsequently Victorian House. Terry was a long-time, active parishioner at Sacred Heart Church where he generously donated his time and skills. Terry served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and volunteered in various capacities including the RCIA and Marriage Encounter programs. He was a life-long blood donor to the Red Cross. In retirement, Terry was a member of the Ferguson Lion’s Club and a volunteer at Meals on Wheels and Village of the Blue Rose. Terry is survived by his adoring daughter Laurie; son Brian (Ninotschka) Moellering Baratas; and son Keith (Julie) Moellering. Terry is also survived by seven grandchildren (Katarina, Nicholas, Olivia and Iris Moellering Baratas and Charles, Lila and Lucy Moellering); sister Kathleen Freeman; sister Karen Harris, brother-in-law Jerry (Linda) Merten; brother-in-law Don (Alene) Merten; sister-in-law Linda (Tom) Dieckhaus; siter-in-law Debbie (Tim) Barrett; and sister-in-law Janice Tennessen. He was devoted to his family and loved spending time in the outdoors hiking, camping and hunting. Terry’s theatrical distribution of the gifts at the annual Christmas party hosted by Jean and Terry earned him the loving nickname “Uncle Scrooge.” A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd from 5-8 pm at Buchholz, 619 St. Francois, Florissant, MO. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 751 N. Jefferson St., Florissant, MO on Thursday, June 23rd at 10 am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church in Florissant or the Ferguson Lions Club.
