Mr. Micah Lees

April 18, 1991 - August 31, 2016

Micah Joel Lees left his earthly body and joined his Creator on August 31, 2016. He was born April 18, 1991 in Columbia, Missouri and spent most of his life in the Lake St. Louis area. "Surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:20 "Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5 Micah was a loving and kind soul. He adored spending time with all of the children in his life, and with his family. Micah brought light to every room, especially when he smiled. His smile and laughter was infectious. Micah lived a very full life. He believed in his Lord and Savior, and that Jesus Christ died for all of our sins. Micah found great comfort in The Bible and the word of the Lord. Micah is survived by his mother, Judy Lees of Lake St. Louis MO and step-father, David Gerner of O'Fallon MO; his father, Darren Lees of Plaquemine LA; Paternal grandparents, Fred and Jo Ann Lees of Zachary LA; his siblings, Frank Darren Lees, Jr. of Watson LA, Jennifer Lees and her fiancé, James Gasperoni of St. Charles MO, Adam Lees of Lake St. Louis MO, and Paige Gerner of Lake St. Louis MO; step-siblings, Julie Gerner of O'Fallon MO, and David Gerner, Jr. of St. Louis; nieces and nephews, Audrey Lees Haines, Sophia Pezold, Marielena Gerner, and Brayden Darrow; aunts and uncles, Scott and Lisa Lees of Port Allen LA, Michelle (Lees) and Jason Tinsley of Greenwell Springs LA, Dawn Whalen and Eric Ausubel of Chesterfield MO, Robert (Bob) Smart of Portland MO, Brian Smart of O'Fallon MO, and Keith Smart of Portland MO; cousins, Kristen, Jacob, Danae, Katie, Sarah, Hannah, Abigail, and Ruth Lees, Christopher Wisdom, and Kylie Tinsley of Louisiana, Alex and Noah Whalen of Chesterfield MO, Ashley, Shelly, Nick, Molly, Bradley, and Tracey Smart of Missouri; and numerous friends who will miss him terribly. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Willian (Bill) and Pauline Smart of Portland MO; brother-in-law, Michael Pezold of St. Charles MO; uncle, Darrel Lees of Jackson LA; and a cousin Jessica Nicole Lees of LA. A very special thank you to the staff at Barnes Jewish Hospital for their compassionate care of Micah, and to the Washington University-Barnes Jewish Transplant Center for allowing lives to be saved with Micah's wish to be a donor. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Charles MO, on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 10:00 am. Arrangements are being organized by Buchholz Mortuaries.
