Leslie O. Trampe

June 9, 1929 - November 27, 2020

Leslie Otto Trampe was born on June 9, 1929 to Esther and Otto Trampe. He was baptized on July 7, 1929, baptismal sponsors were August C. Trampe and Walter Niehaus. He was confirmed on April 18, 1943. Leslie had one younger brother, Stanley. Leslie married Irene Lydia Rennekamp on April 11, 1953. They had three children, Jana (Steve), Kathryn (Dave), Alan (Jackie), was Grandfather to Paul (Katie), Timothy, Scott (Sarah), and Lydia. He was thrilled to have Great-Grandchildren, Collins, Landry, Andrew and Zoey. He learned to play the accordion and piano when he was young. He took every opportunity to play songs for family and friends; always ending with “Good Night, Irene.” Les played horseshoes and was a good softball player. He was in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and served in Germany. He was always active in church and helped with many projects, including playing his accordion for church services. Les and Irene had a special Sharing Group through church that met for decades. He enjoyed fishing in his boat with his grandchildren. Gardening, woodworking, pinochle, and playing golf with family and church friends (on a perfect day), were some of his favorite things to do. Les and Irene traveled to Europe and made many other trips across the United States. They always looked forward to their family vacations to Table Rock Lake. Les will be missed by all. Due to Covid-19, a private, gravesite service will be on Monday, Dec. 7, 1:00 pm at New Bethlehem Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of the Living Christ, 2725 Concord Drive, Florissant, MO 63033.
